# Recruiter quickstart

> From login to a standing Palantir-leaver Target, without touching an API.

This is the path if you hire out of the dashboard. Five minutes. The example is Palantir Forward-Deployed Engineers who left at least 18 months ago — the same loop works for any company or role.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the dashboard">
    Go to [freshtalent.ai](https://freshtalent.ai) and sign in. You land on **Search**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Run a recruiter search">
    Type it the way you would say it to a colleague:

    ```text theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
    ex-palantir FDEs, left 18mo, open-to-work
    ```

    Or pin the same thing as filters: company Palantir, role family **Forward-Deployed Engineer**, left at least 18 months ago, **Open to work**.

    Results are compact on purpose: name, headline, current role, why they matched. Open a person when you want the full dossier.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Put the good ones on a list">
    From Search or a person profile, **Add to list**. Create `hot` if you need a new pipeline. The Lists page does not accept pasted URLs. Stages in the app:

    | Stage      | Meaning         |
    | ---------- | --------------- |
    | To contact | In the pile |
    | Contacted  | You reached out |
    | Responded  | They wrote back |
    | Passed     | Not this time   |

    Lists are the pipeline. People on a list show up in **Monitoring** too.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start a Target">
    Open **Targets**. Kind **People search**, button **Start people search** — FreshTalent will keep finding people who match.

    Review **Pending Approval**. **Accept** the ones you actually care about. Then **Start monitoring this search** (or **Keep all N and start monitoring**). Badge goes **Live**. Filter **Monitored** is who stays enriched.

    You can also start from **Companies**: open a company, then Targets → **Company** → **Start company search**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Turn on Notifications">
    Settings → **Notifications**. Subscribe to the moves that matter:

    * Left company
    * Joined company
    * Open to work
    * Between roles

    Delivery is email and Slack. The feed itself is **Monitoring**. For Greenhouse, Ashby, HubSpot, or an outreach tool, your technical team should poll [events](/connect/ats-crm).
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What “good” looks like

After this, you should have:

1. A search you can re-run in one click
2. A `hot` list with a handful of people in **To contact**
3. A Target filling **Pending Approval** with new Palantir FDE leavers — some of them **Monitored**
4. Email or Slack when someone you Accepted goes Open to work or changes jobs
